DESCRIPTION
In the morning, we will meet at the Vik brewery, where we will give you a little brewery/beer tour and after that head to České Budějovic with a private bus. One of the biggest Czech breweries is located in České Budějovice – Budvar Brewery. The first batch of beer was brewed here 750 years ago. Together with the brewing process you will be also introduced to Budvar’s lager technology. We will also try unpasteurized and pasteurized lager straight from tanks in the lager cellar. Visiting multimedia expositions is also part of this tour. You will find more about the history of Budějovice brewery and brewing. Lastly we will take a mining elevator to a depth of 300 meters, where the source of Budvar water is used for brewing.
After our return from České Budějovice we’ĺl visit Břevnov monastery brewery, which is the oldest brewery in Czech Republic. The first written mention of this brewery is from 993. Next to the brewery, it is also possible to visit an exhibition of traditional beer glasses and a museum about the history of brewing. In front of the monastery is also a small hop garden.
In Prague, we will also visit the U Fleků brewery and restaurant, where you can enjoy traditional Czech cuisine along with the Flekovský 13-degree dark lager. Locals have been visiting this place since 1499. The atmosphere of this historical site, where notable Czech personalities used to gather, is enhanced by the decoration and furnishings of the various rooms and halls. Since 1999, there has been a brewery museum open here, which you can explore if you are interested.
